Description

History:

The first traces of the Château appeared in 1259 with a name that will remain engraved on the area: Duc de la Michodière (The Duke of Michodière); when the templars were removed, the castle was abandoned. In 1808, the castle was the property of a wine-making family in the Gironde area, who restored the castle by adding another level, restoring the roofing, extending the west wing, etc… We can still see two original embrasures which were built to defend the two entrances to the castle, as well as a sarcophagus, the origin of which remains a mystery. The castle ahs remained in the hands of the descendants of this family, and today in the memory of the master-builder, the wine from this property is called Duc de la Michodière.

A wine with a beautiful balance of power and delicacy. The maturity and velvety-nature of the wine is balanced on a structure which is both fresh and virile.

It is appreciated for its respect for the porcini mushrooms and soil of the region, but also for its abundant fruitiness.

Argilo-calcareous soils.

Recommendations of the Sommelier:

This wine goes well with pork curry, Coq au vin, young wild boar chops, porcini mushrooms à la bordelaise and venison sauce.
