BANNERET DE ROCHÈRE

History:

Located on the hillsides of Maransin, to the north of Libournais, the Château Bois Noir is part of the select ‘Appelation d’Origine Contrôlée Bordeaux Supérieur (AOC)’.

The 26-hectare property got its name from the pine wood forest surrounding the ageing cellars and its geographical characteristics give favourable conditions for the perfect maturity of the grapes till harvest season.

Grape Varieties:

95% Red Vines (80% Merlot – 20% Cabernet Sauvignon)

5% White Vines (50% Sauvignon – 25% Muscadelle – 25% Sémillon)

Characteristics:

The Banneret de Rochère has a nice ruby colour with glints of deep carmine red, it combines warmth and elegance and has a well-balanced bouquet.

Fruity with subtle notes of strawberry and fruits of the forest, its roundness on the palate evolves towards a length of fruity aromas.  

Soil:

The elevation of the land at 78 metres on a water-retaining clayey soil and a maritime climate gives this wine its unique characteristics, produced with respect for nature and the grapes, followed by careful ageing in oak casks between 12 to 16 months.

This vintage has a good aptitude for ageing.
